Malinche, Malinches
In this space we will make a brief introduction about what has been the journey of a 10-year process in which Malinche has unfolded in the narrative to rethink, reimagine and reinvent her as a historical character present in the daily life of Mexican women. La Malinche is a historical figure deeply rooted in our collective memory: she is a woman, a slave, an interpreter, a wife, a mother, a translator, a diplomat, a strategist, in addition to many other roles that we are yet to discover.
Malinche-Malinches is an approach that seeks to generate a critical perspective on the situation of the body/territory of women marked by violence, conquest and dispossession. Through the figure of Malinche and the Malinches, embodied in hundreds of testimonies of contemporary women, we want to reconsider the hegemonic historical discourses that place women on the margin of history.
