2024 | DANCE HALL, CENTRO CULTURAL UNIVERSITARIO, UNAM, MEXICO CITY
Led by filmmaker and choreographer Fana Adjani as part of the Acción Ciclos Chair on the History of Experimental Dance.
Over two days, we will delve into the dance and music of New York City’s discotheques during a moment of radical creativity. The workshop includes a review of the cultural context and the political conditions that facilitated the spread of the AIDS epidemic.
We will watch videos, read texts, listen to music, and try out some of the dances ourselves.
